Chinmaya Kumar has graduated from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi with B.A.(H) degree in Economics. He is interested in area of Political economy of development, Subjective well-being and Governance. He is currently studying how subjective perceptions of well-being of the poor influences their decision making and how such decisions affect their wellbeing. He is also involved in constructing district level economic governance indexfor tamil Nadu.
He was among top five budding Economist of South -Asia at the 5th South Asian Economics Student Meet, New Delhi. He has been awarded Rhodes Scholarship for academic session 2009-11 to read M.Phil. In Development Studies at University of Oxford
