This initiative seeks to contribute research insights on environmental policy issues at the national, state and regional levels with specific focus on energy, transportation, forestry and climate change.
Environment is a classic example of a public good where there is no incentive to produce or maintain the good. Addressing environmental problems therefore require policy interventions, in addition to market mechanisms. This initiative seeks to contribute research insights towards sustainable development policies and processes through: 1) measuring, quantifying and benchmarking sustainability, 2) identifying specific areas and sectors that need urgent attention, 3) analyzing policies that directly and indirectly influence environmental sustainability and identifying the gaps and areas of improvement and 4) suggesting context specific and feasible policy recommendations to improve environmental sustainability, both in the medium and long term. We are engaged in policy issues related to environment sectors at the national, state and regional levels with specific focus on energy, transportation, forestry and climate change.
